A group of foreigners and Japanese gather at the gate of a foreign business. The Japanese women wear elaborate kimonos with decorative obi, while the foreign women have fantastically ornate gowns. This is a fanciful setting with an improbable juxtaposition of figures, since one would never expect to see such elegantly dressed people strolling leisurely among foreign trading houses.
