The final volume devoted to the Metropolitan collection of French paintings covers the period from Moreau to Picasso. Following the precedent of the other Museum paintings catalogues, this book is designed to provide comprehensive information in compact form, and includes a brief biography of each artist and a comment on each picture, followed by technical and bibliographical data. The arrangement is chronological, and there is an illustration, with the text, of virtually every picture. This book also contains a general index of collectors for all three volumes of French paintings.
