«It's official: we had a blast at the recent #MetKids Launch Party! To celebrate, we brought the spirit of the #MetKids website to life. The Museum was full of kid artists and makers, and all afternoon, there were weaving and composite creature–making art activities, pop-up animation stations, Q&A sessions with Met experts, and more.»

Families strutted down the red carpet to the #MetKids Film Premiere, where we munched on popcorn and watched the summer animation lab films inspired by Met artworks. You can see all of the videos online in our Made by Kids video section.

One of the best parts was hearing kids like you tell us when you feel like artists. There was such a range of creativity in the answers, like in the following:

"Every time I come out of the Met, I just feel like I want to be an artist. Just like that!"



"My favorite thing to do is do origami. Like making a paper airplane, a pigeon, a parrot, a jet, a car, and a rocket."



"When do I feel like an artist? I feel like an artist when I'm playing the ukulele and singing at home."



"I feel like an artist when I'm in an art room painting and drawing and doing self-portraits of myself, and it makes me feel like I've made another person of me."
