Get Ready for the First Virtual Teens Take The Met!

Have you ever joined us in person for a teen night at The Met? If you have, then you're familiar with this epic, twice-a-year teen takeover of practically the entire Met Fifth Avenue. In celebration of New York City's young people and its incredible community of arts and cultural organizations, the Museum is transformed by teen-led activities, art making, and performances—and, of course, thousands of teens!

The bad news? The May 29 teen night was canceled due to concerns about everyone's safety during the pandemic (like so many other events we know and love).

The good news? We're bringing it to you virtually! We're excited to collaborate with over thirty community partners to present teen-only activities on social media channels on May 29 from 11 am to 8 pm.

What are teens most excited about? Here's a sneak peek at what we have planned!

Check out the kick-off by Bard High School Early College's Panthers Step Team, featuring a tutorial so you can learn a step routine yourself.
Join a few of our partners—including NYC Department of Youth and Community Development and My Brother's and Sister's Keeper Youth Council, Art and Resistance Through Education, and the Bronx Museum Teen Council—who'll be on hand throughout the day to answer your questions and engage you in activities about COVID-19.
Relax during a yoga session with Titan Theater Company or create art with Free Arts NYC, 92Y Center for Arts Learning & Leadership, and more!
Experience a virtual game arcade with Latimer Heights, as you try to guess if music is created by AI (artificial intelligence) or a person.
Don't miss the chance to celebrate at The Studio Museum in Harlem's fashion party, or with DJs from Building Beats, who'll close out the night with sounds by DJ Synchro at 7 pm and DJ Synthefire at 7:30 pm.
