The Met Family Benefit: Playing Games Beyond the Frames

Online sales for The Met Family Benefit are now closed. To purchase tickets, please call the Development Office at 212-570-3948. Tickets will also be available for sale at the door.

The Met Family Benefit offers kids of all ages the opportunity to enjoy creative activities in select Museum galleries, as well as dinner, dancing, and entertainment. The theme of the 26th annual Family Benefit, Playing Games Beyond the Frames, will use The Met's extraordinary collection to showcase how people from different cultures and time periods experience play—from sports, to board games, to technology.

Learn about the history of the Olympics and the different types of games played in the ancient world from the Museum's expert curators and educators. See the beautiful chessboards from The Met collection and play a game yourself. Hear how medieval knights competed in tournaments and see the types of armor they wore. Then, top it all off with dinner and dancing in The Temple of Dendur in The Sackler Wing. It's the ultimate family game night!
