Battle of the Legends: Vogueing at The Met

Free; Museum admission is not required.
In celebration of Pride month in New York and The Costume Institute exhibition Camp: Notes on Fashion, The Met hosts a vogueing competition on the David H. Koch Plaza featuring some of ballroom's famous rivalries and fiercest competitors. The six competitors, selected by ballroom scene fixture and co-founder of House of Mizrahi, Jack Mizrahi, will be judged by a panel of icons including Father of the House of Xtravaganza, Jose Xtravaganza; Twiggy Garçon, executive producer of the documentary Kiki; and other notables such as Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of Vogue and Artistic Director of Condé Nast, and Jordan Roth, president of Jujamcyn Theaters. The performances/battles will culminate with awards for both a crowd favorite and a "Legend Slayer," the grand prize winner.

Competitors include Asia Balenciaga, Bootz Prodigy, Dashaun Lanvin, Omari Mizrahi, Tamiyah Mugler, and Ty Ebony.

In the event of inclement weather, the competition will take place in the Museum.

This program is made possible by Jordan Roth.
