2017–18 Quartet in Residence:
Aizuri Quartet

Aizuri Quartet

Ariana Kim and Miho Saegusa, violins
Ayane Kozasa, viola
Karen Ouzounian, cello

The critically acclaimed and fast-rising Aizuri Quartet is a "string sisterhood of Juilliard and Curtis graduates—each one a magnificent musician in her own right … Every note the quartet produces is lovingly crafted and savored (The Washington Post).

It's only fitting that the four women of the Aizuri Quartet—2017–18 Quartet in Residence at The Met—take visual art as their muse. Named after aizuri-e, a style of mostly blue Japanese woodblock printing noted for its moody expressiveness, the fiery quartet offers up the musical equivalent of that and more in this series of electrifying concerts across The Met's venues.
