“…those who attended this sold-out run of three shows heard an unforgettable performance in an ideal space.” (New York Times)
One of the most gifted artists who ever lived, Michelangelo was a painter, sculptor, architect—and poet. Written some five hundred years ago, his highly physical, sensual love letters form the libretto for this 2015 MetLiveArts commission, designed for our 16th-century Vélez Blanco Patio.
Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Michelangelo: Divine Draftsman and Designer, on view at The Met Fifth Avenue, November 13, 2017–February 12, 2018.
La Dolce Morte is made possible by The Howard & Sarah D. Solomon Foundation.
Tickets to this event include same day Museum admission.
