Quartet in Residence: PUBLIQuartet

Curtis Stewart, violin
Jannina Norpoth, violin
Nick Revel, viola
Amanda Gookin, cello

Close your eyes and envision a traditional string quartet. What you're picturing probably bears little resemblance to PUBLIQuartet—especially when its musicians take traditional, classical string quartet music, "bend and break" the score with a little improv, and then pair it with emerging music, or one of the prolific ensemble's own compositions.
