Originally part of a manuscript with sideways-oriented illuminations, this folio depicts on one side the last scenes of Christ’s life, suggesting it was the final page of this cycle. On the left, two angels sit on ledge-like projections of the Empty Tomb. To their right stand Saints John and Peter and Christ in green. The reverse, showing each evangelist holding his Gospel, once faced the beginning of Saint Matthew’s Gospel, an arrangement seen in the Gospel Book in the case nearby.
