Friends of MetLiveArts
The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Department of Live Arts commissions and presents transformative works of music, dance, and performance in all its forms, forging new models of interdisciplinary collaboration that resonate across communities and redefine artistic engagement. Past productions include works by: Merce Cunningham, Phillip Glass, Martha Graham, Madeline Hollander, Bill T. Jones, Leila Josefowicz, the New York Philharmonic, Bijayini Satpathy, Jacolby Satterwhite, Nina Simone, Patti Smith, Moses Sumney, Twyla Tharp, amongst many others.
The Friends of MetLiveArts are a dynamic community of visionary patrons and core advocates for the performing arts at the Museum. United by a deep appreciation for live arts in all its forms, they champion creative expression within the distinctive spaces, exhibitions, and collections of The Met.
Friends are offered unparalleled access to the Museum through live arts, including invitations to exclusive performances, intimate gatherings with artists, collection and exhibition tours, and concierge services across the Museum at The Met Fifth Avenue and The Met Cloisters.
Annual Dues

Benefits

The Friends of MetLiveArts also receive the benefits of a Patron Membership at The Met, including:
- free, express admission to all of The Met's locations with up to four accompanied guests;
- special access to the collection and new exhibitions during Morning Hours, Preview Days, Evening Receptions, and The Met After Hours;
- invitations to Members-only events, concerts, and curator talks;
- access to the Members-only spaces in the Museum;
- 10% discount on all public restaurants and venues at The Met, The Met Cloisters, and The Met Store;

Highlights of Past Events
- Intimate gallery performances featuring Cecile McLorin Salvant, The English Concert with conductor Harry Bickett, and others.
- Prime seating at Live Arts public performances with a private exhibition tour and reception with the artists, at events including Handel: Made in America with Terrence McKnight; Singing Stones with Roomful of Teeth and composer Gabriela Ortiz; and the world premiere of the site-specific opera Primero Sueño by Paola Prestini and Magos Herrera.
- Dress rehearsal visit with a reception following, for Live Arts-commissioned works including Ballet Hispanico’s Buscando a Juan, and Bassline Fabulous with Machine Dazzle and Catalyst Quartet.
