The formal simplicity, industrial materials, and matte black finish of this chair typify early High Tech design and lend it a rationalist, state-of-the-art quality. The frame, which comprises three legs supporting a semicircular joint back and armrest, is made from blackened steel tubing. The triangular seat of woven stainless steel wires fits within the arc of the back and armrest. Though the severity of this chair indicates that it was not intended for long-term sitting, a particular lyricism is evoked through the grace and refinement of its proportions, the visual and physical strength of its materials, and the poetic quality of its name.
