Not on view

Modern scrapbook album with a blue cloth binding containing the titlepage and 7 plates from the series Septem Psalmi Davidici. The series was first published in Antwerp, most likely by Hieronymus Wierix himself before 1604 and then published again in Paris in 1608 by Petrus Firens. Each Psalm is presented in a scrapwork cartouche. The text of the psalm is shaped to form elaborate knotwork patterns which encompass a small cartouche containing a scene from the Passion of Christ.
