Bequest of Scofield Thayer, 1982 (1984.433.336)

This is a sketch for a large canvas by Rubens with workshop assistance, which was formerly in the Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum, Berlin, and destroyed in 1945. The sketch and the Berlin picture are generally dated to about 1630, or to the early 1630s.
