Not on view

A very handsome and beautifully made piece of jewelry, this unique pin shows a high level of artistry and eloquence. The naturalistic asymmetry of petals and variations of shape in the petals, particularly near the center, shows a high degree of skill. The artisan painstakingly painted veins on the leaves and inserted rhinestones as the central vein, which together with the pearl nestled in the flower's center, lend a sense of subtle opulence. The rich green and delicate pink colors of the enamel and variations in the petal striations exude quality craftsmanship. Worn by Millicent Rogers, who in addition to being dressed by the finest couturiers of her day, also wore, collected, and made exceptional jewelry, illustrated by this piece.
