Evening dress

Designer Miss Beckie
1910–12
Not on view
The chic styling of this evening dress incorporates the asymmetry of the period in the overpanel on the skirt. The contrast between the subtle scrollwork and the plain chiffon and point d'esprit is very effective. The bow detail and the triangular back collar are stylish accents. The sheer sleeves and translucent layers of point d'esprit and black silk on the back bodice add seductive elements.
