The nightgown featured here is a very typical example of beautiful French lingerie made in the 1920s. The peach color of ribbon work and the contrasting cream lace are common materials used for the most luxurious lingerie of the period. Charming, feminine and slightly seductive, fine NY stores such as Bonwit Teller, Saks Fifth Avenue, and B. Altman imported luxurious goods like this for their demanding clientele.
