Born in Cuba, Adolfo Sardina began his fashion career in New York in the early 1950s. He gained prominence as a hat designer with Emme, and opened his own studio in 1962. Two years later he expanded his business to include couture, establishing a reputation for quality workmanship and elegance.

Hats were a necessary accessory for everyday wear at the time this was made. The gorgeous color and rippling brim create a commanding presence.
