This electrotype is after a seventeenth-century original (Augsburg, ca. 1635–40) in the treasure of the Kremlin, Moscow. It was a gift to Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich by the ambassadors of the king of Poland, Wladislaw IV in 1647, together with a matching ewer.
