Ippolito Buzio Italian
Not on view
Buzio was one of the preeminent sculptors at the turn of the seventeenth century in Rome, producing full-length sculptures, busts and fountains for members of the Roman aristocracy. This portrait may represent Luisa Deti (d. 1557), the mother of Pope Clement VIII (1536–1605), and was originally intended for the Aldobrandini family chapel in Santa Maria sopra Minerva in Rome.
