Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, Lord of Rimini (1417-1468), born in Brescia, and ruler of Rimini since 1432. In 1445 he recieved from the Pope the title of Captain General of the Roman Church. He erected the church of St. Francis, or temple of the Malatesta (Tempia Malatestiano), the greatest of Rimini's treasures. His fourth, and last, wife was the famous Isotta de Rimini.
