After François Girardon French

Not on view

The bust, cast with rather thick walls, adapts that of the ancient Roman marble Pomona in the Uffizi, Florence. It and its mate, Bacchus (32.100.195), may represent the seasons Summer and Autumn.

Erato, After François Girardon (French, Troyes 1628–1715 Paris), Bronze, later mounted on black marble socle, French, probably Paris
