Manufactory Meissen Manufactory German
Attributed to George Fritzsche German
Like the other figure in this case, this group represents an early example of porcelain sculpture at Meissen. It may have been intended to be fitted with gilt bronze mounts, as several other examples of this group have been embellished in this manner, including one in the Linsky Collection in this Museum (1982.60.256).
