Michael Erkeder

Garnets and pearls provide lovely accents for the movable joints of this spectacular girdle. Although its patron is not known, its exquisite quality and similarity in shape to several collars produced for other European aristocrats suggests this piece was made for a Hungarian nobleman.

Belt, Michael Erkeder (master in 1736, died 1756), Silver, partly gilded, pearls, garnets, Hungarian, Brassó
