Terracotta oil lamp

Roman

Not on view

Mold-made, with poorly-made ring handle. Discus: standing figure of Athena, facing left, wearing helmet and carrying a long spear in her right and a round shield in her left hand; a single filling hole at left towards nozzle; a raised band around edge. Undecorated, horizontal shoulder. Rounded nozzle with large wick hole. Undefined base ring, and uneven base.

Intact. Ring handle left unpierced and then crudely completed with small, slit hole.
