Powder Horn

Native American, possibly Penobscot

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 372

The style of engraving on this horn suggests that its decorator was Penobscot. It may have been made for a Massachusetts soldier during the Penobscot expedition of 1779–80.
