Terracotta stemmed dish

6th century BCE
On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 171
The stemmed dish is a recurrent shape in Etruria as well as in various Archaic fabrics of Eastern Greece and Lydia. While the details of contact between these two areas are very incompletely understood, influence is evident in tangible manifestations such as this.
