Terracotta mold fragment

Roman

Imperial

Not on view

Satyr filling vase from wineskin.
This fragment has all the salient characteristics of a mold used to manufacture a relief bowl: faint horizontal striations indicating it was wheel made; incised designs on a concave surface; and no trace of glaze.
