[Max Bill and Edmund Collein at the Bauhaus]

T. Lux Feininger American, born Germany

Not on view

In this work, Feininger depicts students Max Bill (left) and Edmund Collein clowning on the terrace adjoining the school's canteen. Joining in their antics, Feininger employed a worm's-eye viewpoint and slightly off-kilter angle to create this whimsical photo-caricature of the future architects confidently holding forth below the balconies of the studio wing.
