[Madame Bardey, Rodin and Henriette, 31 Rue Campagne-Premiere, Paris]
An artist from Lyons, Jeanne Bardey became an unofficial student of Rodin’s soon after they met in 1909. She was instrumental in organizing an exhibition of two hundred drawings and prints by Rodin in Lyons in 1912. When she moved to Paris following her husband’s death in 1915, Rodin became a frequent visitor to her studio. This photograph shows Jeanne completing a portrait bust of Rodin while he works on one of her daughter Henriette.
