Ptah Figure
Late Period
The tight-fitting skull cap, enveloping shroud, and animal-headed scepter identify this figure as Ptah, chief deity of the northern city of Memphis. Master craftsman to the gods, Ptah was the patron of artisans. A hole pierced through the back pillar indicates that this was meant to be suspended.
