New Kingdom, Ramesside Period
ca. 1295–1186 B.C.
Not on view
The relief shows Khonsuhotep and his family in adoration of Ptah. According to the inscription, Khonsuhotep was a temple scribe in the service of Amun, and he is accompanied by his wife, his two sons, and his daughter, who are all named. In his hymn, Khonsuhotep thanks the god for bringing no misdeeds against him as well as for acting against all foreign lands, thus interestingly mixing the personal with the political.
