According to Lotz loc.cit. this is a new edition of Hofer's Ain new Form buech'len...Augsburg, 1545. (Lotz 18). This is the second of two editions, the first is undated and has 36 leaves. The title cut is a copy of the one by Beham on the title of Egenolff's Modelbuch aller Art Nehwens, Wirckens und stikens. (Lotz 20 and ca. 1550). Lotz records only this copy of this edition. The Hofer patterns were copied from the Guentel of 1541 (Lotz 16). 40 leaves, unnumbered. Sigs: A- K 4, Tear in middle sig. F 2. Printer's mark of Heitz, Paul, Frankfurt..drucker-und verlegerzelehen bis in 17 jahrhhundert 1896; pl. XXXIIV, fig. 12 (numbered 22). Cf. Bibl. Soc. Trans. Vol. VII, p. 228, no. 29 which is perhaps a later issue. Bound in red morocco, spine stamped and gilded.
