Bartholdi's Statue of Liberty, from the Views series (N53, variation 2) for Virginia Brights Cigarettes
Trade cards from the "Views" series (N53), issued ca. 1892 by Allen & Ginter to promote Virginia Brights Cigarettes. This is a very rare series with only three views known. The Metropolitan Museum owns two variations of the card, "Bartholdi's Statue of Liberty." Though the same view, variation 1 depicts the statue at a smaller scale than in variation 2.
