Panel with a seascape filled with burning and damaged ships receding into the background. In the background at right, a city. The scene is framed by columns wrapped in vines. From a series of six plates with decors with fireworks, created in conjunction with the fireworks display on the Hofvijver in The Hague. The series includes eight panels depicting the military success over the French and Spanish armies in 1702. First published in that year, the series was also included in both editions of the collected works of Marot, published in 1703 and 1712.
