This print is bound in Volume I of Oeuvres. Jombert published his collection of Le Pautre in 1751. Volume I contains "desseins... pour la décoration des maisons, etouches, edifices;." This print is part of a series of six plates depicting fireplaces in the Roman style. Each print depicts the elevation of the fireplace and its plan, with the exception of the first print, which does not include a plan. The series was published by Pierre II Mariette around 1656-57 and by Jombert in 1751.
