This print is bound in Volume II of Oeuvres. Jombert published his collection of Le Pautre in 1751. Volume II contains "desseins... pour la décoration des Eglises et des Jardins;." This print is part of a series of six plates depicting grottoes and gardens in the Italian style with figures dressed in clothing of antiquity. The series was published by Pierre II Mariette and by Jombert in 1751.
