Bowl with Abstract Spiral Design
On loan to The Met
This work of art is currently on loan to the museum.The decoration on this bowl is similar to examples decorated with abstract sea creatures found in a shipwreck near the island of Kastellorizon, off the southwest coast of Turkey. The radiating spiral arms suggest a stylized starfish.
