Designer Manette van Hamel Dutch
1970
Not on view
Manette van Hamel called her jewelry "sculpture to wear," an apt phrase for this gutsy piece. The three-dimensional abstract shapes and semiprecious cabochons seem to recall the skyscrapers of the metropolis. In her memoirs, van Hamel noted that she drew inspiration from New York City.
