Woman of Venice II

Alberto Giacometti Swiss

Not on view

This figure is part of a series of fifteen versions of a female nude modeled from the same clay, on the same armature, nine of which were cast in bronze. The artist said, "The last of the states was no more definite that its predecessors. All were provisional . . . all standing figures and heads are states." This figure is the only painted one in the group.
