A devoted metalsmith since her youth, Mary Lee Hu creates exquisite wearable body ornaments by wrapping, twisting, knitting, and weaving metal wire. She uses only her fingers and the occasional pair of pliers as tools. Here, Hu references aquatic forms. Highly organic, Choker #35 is one of a series of related designs and is characteristic of her meticulous but experimental working method
