Rondador

Ecuador

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 681

Ecuador’s national instrument is the rondador, a single-ranked panpipe with eight to thirty pipes, all of which are closed at one end. Pipes are occasionally made of condor feathers, Ecuador’s national bird.
