Scarab Inscribed with a Blessing Related to Wadjet
A uraeus (aroused cobra) with wings faces right and represents Wadjet, the goddess who protects kings and gods. The entire composition asks for her protection and thus offers support to the owner of the seal-amulet. Winged creatures were considered to be apotropaic beings, their stretched wings offering protection.
