Relief Fragment with a Male Foot on a Blue Object
The fragment preserves part of the foot of a male figure facing right resting on an unidentified blue object, perhaps a footrest or a platform. The toe curves upwards at the tip, the nail is indicated by a slightly lower surface, and the contour of the underside of the foot curves upwards to the arch. It is uncertain who was depicted here, but the red color indicates the figure was male.
The foot is rendered in sunk relief, which was traditionally used on exterior decoration, but in the Twelfth Dynasty is also found on interior scenes.
