Raised Relief Fragment with Parts of Two Offering Bearers Facing Right

Late Period, Saite

On View Gallery

Three joined fragments depict parts of two figures from a raised relief procession of offering bearers facing right. The figure at right preserves most of the bearer’s head along with portions of three cosmetic bags on a tray originally balanced between his shoulder and outstretched hand. On the left are parts of three cosmetic bags once held by a now-missing figure. The upper register of this fragment preserves painted hieroglyphs of a seated man and two strokes above a register line, unfinished portions of the tomb’s decoration.
