Mrs. Abington
Judkins's mezzotint portrays the actress Frances Abington and is based on a painting by Reynolds of 1771-73 (private collection; Mannings 31). Shown half-length, the sitter wears a satin cape with the hood thrown back, tied with a bow at her neck, the image contained within an oval frame.
