Girl's Summer Kimono with Design of Sea Bream and Bamboo
Not on view
The long-hanging sleeves of this robe make it appropriate for a girl, and the lightweight ramie cloth makes it suitable for summer. The textile is decorated in kasuri with an auspicious pattern of sea bream and bamboo. Sea bream, known as tai in Japanese, is associated with the last syllable in medetai, a word used to describe joyous occasions.
