Portrait of a Woman
Original glass negative. The subject is a woman in white dress who holds a small purse in her left hand and rests her right arm on the back of a bench. Her 1920s western ensemble is quite fashionable with particular attention drawn to the different layers of her lacy dress, the band in her hair, and her polished shows. Shot in an indoor studio, the lightly painted background does not compete with the vibrant pattern of the manufactured rug. The wooden back is quite rustic in style with weathered pieces of lumber and gaps in the support structure.
