Rowallan Castle
A view of the Rowallan castle in Scotland. Two women stand in the foreground, at right, before a flight of stone steps which lead to an open entrance. A girl stands half way up the steps. The entrance to the castle is flanked by towers above which fly two birds. The Rowallan castle dates to the 16th century and has been held by the medieval Muir family, the Earls of Glasgow, the Earls of Loudoun, and the Barons Rowallan. It is built around a small knoll and once stood in a small loch, fed by the Carmel Burn.
