Not on view
Rectangular sheet of paper with a textile design from a group, dated 1840, made in Mulhouse, Alsace, which was an important nineteenth-century center for textile production in the Haut-Rhin region of France. The design is made of alternating circles of different sizes, rendered with dark reddish-brown stipples and some containing a light tan highlight in the center, sometimes containing a pearl of white color, and four circles of dark red color bordered by ribbons of white color with black outlines, aligned in the form of a lozange, over a light tan background with black stipples.
